Sunday...again

Yesterday was the second Saturday of the New Year. It is not any different than any other Saturday I suppose. I did not hear from anyone making any requests of me, well the kind of requests that I have decided are not good for me or the requestee that is. When I reached out to my sister to ask if she was going to Poteau, she stated no she was going to come to this town so I could look at the surgery site of my BIL. I told her I had planned to go to Poteau anyway so I would just meet her there. It took a while to get organized to go, but I got there eventually, and the site looked okay for only being 2 weeks post op.

I checked my messages before heading home and I did have a text and a missed call, but I refrained from responding. Mostly because I had a kid in tow and I am sure the conversation would gravitate to subjects best left alone. I am learning although it be very slowly.

Once back home I took the kids to Walmart and to get pizza and to Hobby Lobby. All of that went fairly smooth and there were not very many requests for things I didn't want to buy. I forgot a few things as per normal for me. Nothing that I cannot live without. On returning home I discovered TWO opossums in the barn! NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS! I need to build the henhouse sooner rather than later. I guess the fastest option is to repurpose the gazebo.

Here it is from the barn side

 and from the house side

The rotten little critters ate one of my eggs too! Not only that, but it also made a mess of the other eggs. They all have egg drippings all over the shells

The kids did not like the homemade pop tarts that I made a few days ago. To be honest they were only home assembled all the ingredients were premade and from the store. I thought I would be slick and short cut the process. Really, I just made an easy breakfast a bit harder. Store bought pie crust are different than homemade, very different. The filling was pretty much the same as I have used Smucker's preserves in the past, but the crust was too oily or something, maybe the humidity affected it. Whatever it was the kids took one bite and walked away.

I know I took more pictures, but I must have deleted them.

Today I need to get ready for the delivery of the washer I ordered and also for the school week for the oldest kiddo. She really does want to try out the school here. The youngest wants to try it out also but is very on the fence about it. I started the dough for a batch of English muffins. Those must be cooked today. Also, cookies and crackers made for the school lunches. So, with all that in mind I must close and get busy with my chore list for Sunday.
