It is time to go...
As much as I need to do things here, I am ready for a break. Breaks come with compromise and challenges that sitting still does not have. This week has been very busy and surprisingly a series of appointments kept the family close these last few days. First an appointment, nothing special as it was an annual physical. Labs had been drawn earlier and the results were shared. Triglycerides so high that the LDL calculation was impossible to do. That was an eye opener.
Of course, new medication was ordered and diets discussed. There was mention of doing a new neuro-psych test just to see if there were any improvements since stopping the opioids and the chaos of life having been presumed to have slowed down a bit. Oh boy this PCP is totally clueless about our crazy lifestyle! I explained as best I could what our plans were but since we do not have a plan... I guess that speaks for itself.
Time to formulate a plan. There were 3 appointments on Monday but that was the most significant one. The next day arrived with a total shock in the energy exerted by the 2 people in this house that never have any energy before noon. So much for a quiet cup of coffee and any phone calls for the day. Still there were many things that needed to be done before a trip to town could actually take place, no matter how many passengers were going with me!
So, I got started. Bagging up the freeze-dried chicken was first. Then the beans were next on the list of things to get on trays and into the freezer. Then boiling the liquid from the beans and jarring it up was next. Cleaning all the dishes from that adventure topped of the morning. It was then we left and got the day away on track. DH wanted to pick up his own meds at the pharmacy; I dropped him off at EACH and went on my way to pick up a few things. I was in the BX when the neighbor called and requested that I pick up a can of Crisco for her. That of course led me to the Commissary where I was extremely disappointed in the selection of anything that I would want to buy if I were looking for something. It was okay I could go without rather than settle.
In between the stores I ventured back to EACH to check on DH and the task he was covering. Still waiting he was. I needed to go to a couple of places off post, and it made me wary that as soon as I left, he would surely call and say he was done. I decided to just stay on the post and wait and wait and wait. It was 4 hours and 15 minutes from the time I dropped him off until the time he called and said he was done.
We stopped at the store that I needed on our way home. We arrived at the neighbor's home to drop off the Crisco at 5:30. It was a long day to say the least. I put in 4 applications for different positions while I waited. I received an email from one place and a subsequent phone call and have an interview tomorrow. It is just home visits, but it pays a little bit better than taking a full-time position that I would have to abandon at the end of summer. I will know more after the interview. I was upfront that I am looking for a temporary position and that I cannot stay around for winter. I will keep you posted.
I am tired so good night.
