Play doh.....why?

Play doh... Surely it was invented by a carpet company! My 2 year old Grand daughter loves play-doh! She is conscious enough to keep it on the table and not make a huge mess... at home that is. Gramma's house is a different story because my littles take their play-doh everywhere and it is a mess!  Don't get me wrong I have tried to enforce the keep it on the table or else rule but when you work full time and the person in charge when you are gone doesn't enforce the same... well it just goes awry anyway! They love the stuff it keeps them busy for at least 30 minutes, it improves their dexterity and sticks to the carpet in a bad way :)

We are homeschooling right now and most days we get something done but not everyday is a full education day. They are preschool and kindergarten right now, my daughter wants us to put them back in public school so that she can send her daughter to preschool with our youngest... I don't want to put mine back into the system. However, I am gone during the day so I cannot homeschool hers the way we do ours, she gets a little when she is over for babysitting purposes, but it is not consistent. Other times the three of them are so rowdy we get nothing done except outside time! Thursday night the older grands spent the night so they could visit their old school friends and just hang out.  They played in their old fort and made a picnic lunch.

Yesterday the grandson had his Hamadan, he placed second. I know he was happy. I know nothing of Taekwondo other than he enjoys it.  I did not get to go as I work every weekend. Originally I started working the weekends so that I could babysit for my youngest grandchild and because the facility that I was at previously weekends were the hardest shift to cover. Turns out it still is. Happy Father's day to those who are celebrating today. Hopefully I can get finished with work and celebrate with my family.

When I left work early yesterday I had great plans to bake hot dog buns, get ready for this day and then life kicked into overdrive.....Fast forward and it is July already... actually almost August  and we have yet to finish one workbook for the kindergarten year. My daughter plans to have a garage sale with some friends from work this weekend and she kindly invited me to drop off a few things.  So after two worksheets and lots of tears I relented and let the kids away from their desks and got started cleaning the living room.

This room has been abused for three months or so.. I have been piling stuff in there like no tomorrow in hopes that I would get some time to go through it all and today was that day! Although I did not finish I made a lot of progress. So when I get the chance to participate in another garage sale things will be half way ready.
