Can you say Excitement?

Last night was our first night on our own in the little house in town. The girls and I have never stayed overnight alone here. DH has always been home eventually. But this night was different by plan. He had a sleep study scheduled. So we wished him well and went about having a girls' night in. We played a quiz game on the tablet and learned lots of stuff, some important, some not so much. For instance did you know where Justin Beiber is from? How about the capitol on Hungary? We survived and the next day brought more excitement than we really needed. After the study was over DH got a call from a doctor, a doctor in California. He revealed that during the study there were unusual heart patterns that were indicative of an imminent heart attack. Not what you want to hear at the end of your sleep study. So that was the start of my day. Get the kiddos to school and wait... Yes I did say wait. DH insisted I didn't need to be at the hospital with him. Of course not! There are dishe...

It is Fall! The weather is crisp and cool... until late in the afternoon then it gets a bit warmer.. at least in the house. After being unable to pick apples because the orchard was closed before we arrived, we went to a park. It was freezing cold compared to the day before when our high was 80 degrees. No matter, the kids enjoyed opening the packages and playing with the little treasures they found inside. Bonus feature was they haven't had these at our local McDonald's since our home burned down so no duplicates! And no ketchup on the carpet from half eaten food! There is much to do today to get ready for the upcoming week. Doing all t...

Good morning folks!  Today I thought I would sleep in.. so I did until 0730.  That's when my darling grand-daughter arrived for her half day of babysitting. It is Saturday and I do have to work outside the home today. So it helps when the little one joins our two girls for a morning of "mommy can you not go today?".  This is always hard on the girls they really hate when I leave to go to work.  No matter how much I tell them the grandmas and grandpas need me, it does no good. In their little eyes they need me more.  It is true, but I am the worker bee in this hive. So I must go. My mom sent me a magnet that read "I owe, I owe, so off to work I go".  It is true but one day we will be debt free. The highlight of the morning has been watering the fruit trees and finding that FedEx arrived and dropped of my new plants!  My DH rushed the box in from outside, we unpacked it and took it all to the greenhouse for now. My order consis...
