Robin's Nest

 No, I do not mean the weather as it shows no sign of cooling down at this time. It is the end of the third week of school for the kiddos. We had planned to fly back to Oklahoma tomorrow, however we are going to wait two weeks. I need time to emotionally cool off. I really thought the 100-acre property would be where we were going to land. After seeing it, I know we cannot. If DH almost falling off the porch weren't enough to say no the sunken jacuzzi bathtub in the master bath was. The drop-off behind the back porch was another incentive not to buy. If we were a bit younger and not bringing a wheelbarrow of dementia and fall risks with us, then the place was beautiful. The triple digit weather got to DH. The last day we were there he was ready to head back to the hot plains of Colorado. Once here he quickly wanted to go look at other properties in the triple digit state, and frankly so did I.  Our tiny terror is two!!! Happy Birthday to her! She is the youngest grandchild at this point. Probably will be for quite some time. Had to wish this kiddo a Happy Birthday by text as her parents did not answer the phones. That's okay I stopped by to see her tonight and I told her Happy Birthday then. It is Friday and the end of another week! I actually escaped for the whole day today. It was truly by mistake, but it happened. I headed in to take the kiddos to school since my appointment was at 0920 and it didn't make sense to have two of us make two separate trips in when one could do it all. Of course, that was before I realized that the youngest left her book bag at home. After dropping the young ones, I drove as fast as reasonable to get home and return in time for my appointment. That did not work quite as well as I had hoped, and it turns out that people are not very willing to share the road when heading south to Fort Carson. It forced me to call and let them know I wou...

  There is a fine line between a bargain and a bribe. Yes we employ both in order to get compliance with school work. Both kiddos resist, at least first. The youngest is the most resistive, so it's bribing with her. It must be a really good bribe to work. Hopefully this isn't going to last forever. The oldest is excited to get to go to enrichment at the local school. I wish I were as excited.  Well, we had a fail this morning. The oldest wants to spend the night with a friend. The bargain was do one whole section in math. She started happily, but the sections got harder. She has 2.5 sections to go and wants to do them on her return from the friends house tomorrow.  It is time to transition to bribe or give in or just give her a break. She has been at it for an hour. So we will try a break. It worked! She finally, on her own, finished after a break! Next was to force the youngest to do some math! That started off rough but within 3 minutes we were done with one section. So...

What a closing ceremony!!! Happy Birthday to Randi, Lucas, Tryston, Brianna and Mary!  Sorry I did not bake a cake for any of you!!  And in 2 weeks when the March Birthdays start... I probably won't bake any cakes either... I said probably.  I am not sure what I will be up to in 2 weeks I hope back to work only because I have bills to pay and I am not making any money staying home.  I have enjoyed watching the olympics and playing with my little girls... I really wish I could stay with them and not work.  So part of my goal this year is to get completely out of debt and to learn to do more with less. Part of that goal includes less procrastination... so I better get some more pull up pants made for Peyton.  We have to use less paper products and more reusable items.. no matter how painful!  Washing diapers isn't that painful but pull ups kinda bug me.  Only because I am frustrated that potty training is not happening!  Not for lack of tryin...
