A day of rest....

Image
It should be a day of rest, however things were needed from the store. Distilled water for the C-Pap and a universal remote for the three televisions that are missing their remotes. Of course now that the purchase has been made the remotes will appear. We also needed duct tape as we are making Barbie furniture for the dollhouse tonight. It is a challenge in being creative. I have to start and they have to make something too. I searched for a piece of wood in the yard to make a couch. Coming up empty I switched to focusing on our recycle materials. My older daughter suggested taking plastic soda bottles and creating "70's" style chairs so that is where we will start. Well after church all the kids got a soda treat. Just so Barbie could have some chairs. First I cut the chair shape. Sadly the step by step pictures are too blurry. Duct tape is the upholstery cover. With so many patterns to chose from it was hard to pick just one!  A couple of plastic grocery bags are bunch

It's Saturday! and baby day again...

It started as a screaming morning again... but baby settled down and as long as I don't get caught looking at her it is okay. She is clinging to her sister and my girls. I am not sure what I have ever done to this little girl... but it must have been awful! Breakfast is over and the dogs are very happy baby is here! She shares! Okay, now here is a question.. If the dogs lick the highchair clean should I tell the mom or let it go? I sometimes feel like what happens at Gramma's should stay at Gramma's. Then I feel guilty not telling her mom things that happen. No matter how small, just because if I don't say anything she will say something like "okay, you are hiding something". Take for instance this harmless glue balloon. We made these yesterday. I failed to mention, on purpose, that the little darling pictured above, broke hers on her lap. Although it contained less than 4 ounces of white school glue, when it burst it looked more like a full gallon! Mom had ju

We both lived!

Yay! Both baby and Gramma survived a half day of babysitting! Albeit was a long morning, we made it! All the way past lunchtime and I also made a trip to the store and a drive through to get drinks. Baby did not really let me do much but change her and her nap was all of 10 minutes long, it was still a success! Breakfast with the big kids I am sure she thinks they are weird After Breakfast she played with the girls in their room. Each time I peeked in to make sure they were okay she scowled at me. So I just left well enough alone. Once she started whining a lot I picked her and put her in the sling and pulled it snug. She then fell asleep. This was a very short nap! 10 minutes, I kid not! It was close to lunch time and the other kids were playing at the table so she joined in. First she laid claim to the pencils...it helps if you stand in the bucket so no one can take any Then just in case they put you in this thing put some of the pencils in there for later. More is better Now to play

Another fun day!

It has been a long morning. It started at 0400 with #10 finding her tablet and waking the household with her happy squealing. At least it was happy and not tears of frustration. Somehow I manage to doze off again for a few minutes and had the weirdest dream of my life! I certainly hope that is not a dream of my future. That is about all I can say about that dream! This was supposed to be a baby morning but as I looked around at the living room floor, and the counters, and all the other things that did not get done over the weekend... I declined and sent her to Auntie's house. I will take her tomorrow.  I did get the chickens to come out of their coop this morning. It will be short lived as the temperature is supposed to drop again this afternoon. They had a bucket of water that they tipped over in less than ten minutes. I went back in to get my phone from the 10 year-old and when I came back out it was dumped. I then peeled the carrots for Curried Carrot soup and took the peelings
