Even sadder today...

Image
I thought for sure I was going to have to explain puppies last night but in fact one was so sad about not going to "Passport Night" that she didn't notice that we only had five puppies. She ended up falling asleep when the older one got home and that was that. Even this morning went off without a hitch. But then it happened... school let out and they wanted to play at this house instead of the new house.  My youngest little went up to check the puppies and darn! She did learn to count this semester! No Happy Meal is going to fix this... the sobbing went on for about 40 minutes. No matter there are still 8 dogs in this house... we are short one puppy and that is NOT okay with anyone! Well 40 minutes of wailing and they are starting to settle down. Every once in a while they start to be sad again but it is less often. Gigi went home  and you could tell she is still quite sad about the whole deal. DD number 6, came and tried to get the runts to latch on to momma so we coul

Sad day today...

On arising and 0330 this morning I am sad to say that we lost a puppy. It was still warm but unresponsive. We gave him the name Star and DH took him to the property to bury him next to the host of other pets that have gone before. With all the things that have happened just since the first of the year you would think it would be easy to just give notice...again... and move on.  It isn't... I don't know why but it isn't. Our next storm is due to go through about Wednesday so hopefully it will bring just rain and the snow and ice will stay away. Maybe it can go to Texas or Mexico or some warm state that may appreciate the break. I really would like to see spring but not so much summer with its' overbearing heat. In about two minutes I am going to have explain why there are only five puppies.. I hate this part of life. Have you ever gone to work or shopping and thought you shut the doors? Yeah me too. And no I didn't. Does it make you nervous to enter in? Well le

Another week gone by.... oh wait it is almost a month and what have I done?

Time is passing by quickly and the clean up process at the burn site has been stalled by this or that and the weather too.  Work is playing its' part also. Try as I might I cannot get out of there or take comp time. Something always seems to interfere in my plans. Take yesterday as an example... the plan was just the morning meeting and one assessment...followed by a room move, a case of bed bugs and another room move and the beginning of the deep clean required. Next thing you know it is 1800 and a trip to the commissary is still needed. Then Saturday happens and you have to take kiddos to the doctor, clean house, babysit and try to remember where you put that to  do list...hmm I'm not busy at all. Not sure why I can't get anything done. Oh and that's just great the dog has decided today is the day to have puppies.  Well six hours have lapsed and we have six new puppies! I will post pictures another time. Right now trying to keep 5 kids away from 6 new puppies and ke

No Rainbow... no nap and no day off!

After a mere 8 days in her new home DD has taken to visiting her old home (which we currently occupy) of course this was after I had spent 4 of her 8 days with her. She and DSIL#2 had been taking care of the girls for me while DH rested in the most expensive hospital we have close by. Now that he is home things should get smoother....right! I have been to look at several houses in town and a few out of town....and that said I'm still looking. T wo days after his arrival home young grandson, here after known as YDGS, decided to jump ditches with a friend and off we go to the ER again! Luckily it was just a bad sprain but oh what a good time for it. No need to take time off of school, just order in a blizzard! You get two free days off of school! How cool is that? Okay for the littles very cool except that we no longer own any sleds and I had the privilege of being at work when it hit and of course getting to spend the day, night and another day. So the blog has been neglected fo

Crazy week... Meet crazy weekend!

This has been a very crazy week! So many things happening and even more when you think you're done! First our asbestos samples weren't good enough and then we get word that demolition can start, not even 48 hours post recollection! The same day DD gets word that her mortgage is approved and she can move in tomorrow... Of course during the night DSIL (Dear Son-In-Law) falls down his basement stairs and fractures 4 places in his back :( I mean really if you don't want to help move your in-law's... Just say so. So DD has to take time off work and find a sitter once DSIL is released from hospital. Guess who that sitter was :) Not to be left out DH is sitting, well laying really, in a hospital bed waiting to rule out a heart attack.. And since I'm not babysitting DSIL at 0205 on a snowy Sunday morning...I may a week be here for the fun of it :-) I do miss my days of sleeping. I guess sleep really is a waste of time. I mean really just three days ago I was pulli
