An Endless Search

Well I have not been a very faithful blogger! In fact I have written nothing in some time now... what with search for pictures of George not going all that well I became rather consumed with the task and neglecting more obvious things. Then housekeeping 101 started here at the ole' homestead and that about killed me and we only tackled 4 rooms! There are officially 2 more full floors to go and 1 partial floor and a loft on the fifth level... the worst part is I probably won't find any pictures of "George" on any of them. Technically we are not even finished with the first level. Dear hubby finally laid the tile in the entry way to see if I liked the pattern.... I DO! Building your house is definitely not for the faint of heart. As each day passes you think tomorrow I will do this, this and that. Then at the end of each day you find your dream list was a bit too long or maybe not all the needed supplies were on hand or you slept half of your work day away beca

Graduation!

It is that time of year... well it was that time of year. Announcements arrive in the mail almost daily of kids graduating highschool or college. The only competetion is all the wedding invites! Some of the cards even look like I might know the sender. So it dawned on me he has never met George Washington either but he would probably recognize him! Off to the bank to purchase a few photos to put in the album. I thought perhaps fifty would be easy to get... oh let me clarify... fifty photos of George from fifty different years! This task has proved to be impossible so we settled for as many different yea

Where am I going and why am I in this handbasket?

Okay I am in my fifties and I just returned from the store and I trip on a plastic baseball bat in my kitchen floor.... hello? What happened to the "empty nest" stage of life? Oh yeah the economy. It does look pretty bleak for many and I must add I too am constantly looking at ways to cut back and use less. For myself I have found the only thing I can really do to save on spending is not go to the store. Seriously, if I go I seem to spend money on something that wasn't planned on whether or not I bring a list. And lists are something I make almost on a daily basis. (It helps me keep up with my procrastination program). Ever since this wonderful stage of life began my short-term memory went out of state! It seems I can only get to this blog page by bookmarking it and then every couple of days I remember there was something I wanted to share. As for today some funny things happened, things you just have to take in stride. My five year old granddaughter informed me
