wind, wind go away but bring some rain anyway

Image
The wind was pretty relentless yesterday. We have two swimming pools, only one set up of course, but that one was above ground and suffered at the will of the wind. I had to put water into the pool to try to offset the risk of it blowing over. This was not what I wanted to do but it will be okay. The pool itself is now four feet north of its original position. Once I had what I thought was enough water in it to keep it on the ground I started thinking perhaps I should actually take it down this tear and move it into the larger pool. the larger pool is 24' around and could easily fit the 20' pool inside of it. This would protect the smaller pool the rest of the season. My original thought was to empty clean and sell the smaller pool and replace the larger pools liner. Then I thought well this one is up already, and I could use it this season, get rid of it at the end of the season and hopefully, already having purchased and installed the liner into the older pool, drain the smal...

T oday should have been a day to work on things here at the house... but it wasn't. We went to the zoo. It was hot! too hot for even the animals to come out of their shelters.  We were able to see a few animals but overall, the majority were not visible. somewhere is a picture of these two much younger here is the oldest in the stone kangaroo pouch watch out for the bears There was a baby bison some humans not sure what these were or these these were lions It was hot! Also, the oldest teen started to have an allergic reaction to something, so we left and headed home. DH had a small problem with a car, and the youngest bio-DD was able to go help him get home safely. Once we were home the oldest bio-DD called to ask if I could help them get to Michigan to see their dad as he is not doing well right now. They will head out tomorrow and I guess keep me posted. They are having a hard time with going and I understand. I just got off the phone with the oldest DD and she is really st...

Time in a bottle...

Good morning it is two days after the inspection, which we did pass, yay! I had my days messed up as far as the locksmith and he came yesterday. The camper is open and in need of attention. Today I will try to clean out the refrigerator before it gets too hot outside. I do not need any flies to arrive. If the above little spidey would do its job and catch any flies, then maybe we could wait on the fridge cleaning. Not likely though after I snapped the shot spidey went back into hiding. Again, today I will make a to do list and hopefully today will be different, perhaps today I will accomplish more than just one thing.  If not, then I am at least improving my procrastination skills! If strength is measured through pain, then the Scibor kids are far above Hercules. Losing a sibling hurts. I cannot ease the loss or soothe the pain.  Mary, Ricky and their older sister are in my thoughts almost constantly. I say almost because it's true. I do go through my day and have momen...

Time travel

Good morning, as I start this post I am just getting over a bit of a slump in writing. It could be called writer's block It really is just procrastination.  There are many things going on in my world at this time. None of them are really blogging material, but here we are. Spring or maybe Summer has finally begun here on the plains. We came back the first time in March, and it has been mostly cold, so this sudden onset of green and some warmth are much appreciated. Today there is much to do since the final inspection is tomorrow. I will update as things get tidied up and readied for the big event. At least I hope too. Before I get that started though I have several small tasks to accomplish, breakfast, meatballs, homemade vinegar, and counter clearing. So far on my list of to-dos I have completed breakfast, vinegar starting and making rice crispy treats. then I got a text that my daughter cannot come and help with the second-floor adventure, so I best get busy up there and set asid...
