Time travel

Good morning, as I start this post I am just getting over a bit of a slump in writing.

It could be called writer's block

It really is just procrastination.  There are many things going on in my world at this time. None of them are really blogging material, but here we are. Spring or maybe Summer has finally begun here on the plains. We came back the first time in March, and it has been mostly cold, so this sudden onset of green and some warmth are much appreciated.

Today there is much to do since the final inspection is tomorrow. I will update as things get tidied up and readied for the big event. At least I hope too. Before I get that started though I have several small tasks to accomplish, breakfast, meatballs, homemade vinegar, and counter clearing.

So far on my list of to-dos I have completed breakfast, vinegar starting and making rice crispy treats. then I got a text that my daughter cannot come and help with the second-floor adventure, so I best get busy up there and set aside the meatballs for later.

Well half of the boxes are down from upstairs, and I managed to cut a piece of particle board or OSB in half. Now I need to cut one piece to 15" wide and the other to 16.5" wide. I have no sawhorse or clamps or any extra hands. I think my final prep for that area is going to be 10 rectangle milk crates for the final barrier.

I am going to head to Walmart to find those items, then come back and cut the final boards, secure them, then drag the carpeting to the top, secure it, and then secure the milk crates. After that I can work on the cubby entrances. I have returned and brought the crates in. Now to fix dinner and then finish what I can upstairs.

First, I added the missing shelf backboards and vacuumed up the mess that I made and what had been previously left. I added the crates but not where I originally thought I wanted them. I had a vision of the crates being all the way to the top shelf and on either side and then on each shelf on the way down. But I got tired and settled for 6 across on the front edge of the second shelf down. It looks okay but I still think I want to do my original idea... just to see how it looks.
this is how it looks currently

Getting there

While cutting the shelf backboard I found it helpful to use the buckets of screws to hold the board in place while I cut. It is not what I pictured but hopefully it will do for temporary. Carpet will go in when I get time tomorrow. Many things happening tomorrow. the locksmith will be here at 0830 to open the camper. And the inspector for the final will be here sometime tomorrow.

I also plan to move the horse troughs up to the front yard in order to make raised bed gardens out of them. Best laid plans of mice and men... and me. Since I am in utter limbo with where we are going to live, I decided instead of moving all the things that I would want in Oklahoma from here, I will just set things up here and figure out there when I am in fact actually there.
