valentine's day and other money-making schemes...

It is Friday the thirteenth, the day before Valentine's Day 2026. I feel like I actually got some work done today. I managed to sweep the workshop garage out enough to put my van in there. It is supposed to rain over night and although my car could use a good wash, I do not want to have tree trimmings dropping on it. MIA arrived home early I haven't seen her in 3 days. She was actually talkative. Mostly she was concerned that we did not have our cars in the driveway.

I like seeing eggs in the nests

I like seeing cows in the pasture

I like having the chickens help me clean

Even the cat and Turkey tried to help

This is the garage I parked my van in. I put the convertible in the attached garage. It had been in there before I started sorting boxes. Poor car had to sit in the driveway through the snow and rain because I had the floor of the garage totally covered with stuff and things. Things are put away for now. It was weird to drive into a garage to park.

It is also weird to not have Hansel nor Kanga the Roo around anymore. Although I think it may have made the chickens happy as they are laying a lot more eggs. It may also be that it is warmer outside. I thought they were being good chickens and laying their eggs in the crates, but I was wrong, they are actually laying them in the hay troughs inside one of the stalls. The youngest found 7 eggs in the southwest stall.

Each stall has one of these

Tomorrow, we plan to go to Poteau it will depend on the weather. We might just go to my sister's house and deliver eggs. The kids did not appreciate walking from the detached garage to the house when we returned from town. I think they thought I was torturing them with exercise. I was not.

The trip to Poteau was raining and challenging. Google took me down some back roads that I had not been on before. Most of them were narrow and bumpy blacktop. On the way back I took the normal route. It was a bit longer but most of the roads were pavement. Also, they were wider with shoulders to pull over in most of the areas.

Sunday brought my sister and her husband to visit for a bit and also my grandson and his wife stopped in on their way to her grandparents' house in Texas. At first, I was disappointed that they would not spend the night and they had another 4 hours of driving to do. Then I felt guilty for even having them stop. In the end it was nice to see them, and I am glad they stopped by.
