Good Morning!  This post does not have a title at this point but if it did it would probably have something to do with cleaning toilets :)  It has to be done... but do all five need to be done the same day?! Unfortunately for this week yes.  I have tried making schedules, doing 2 a day, one every other day.. nothing seems to work the same from one week to another.  Either work or kids throw a change at you that must be dealt with right then. And toilets must wait...


I also need to make at least two of these today before work.  One of the QMaps is celebrating her birthday and has dinner plans.  This will be her birthday gift.  It reminds me of two years ago when I made these for all the residents at my work.. one of the little ladies started crying.  When I asked why she said she was so hurt. She had never received a bag of dirt for Christmas before.  I started laughing and she cried harder... oh no crisis intervention needed!! So I put the "bag of dirt" into the microwave and heated it up and then placed around her neck.  Problem solved but now she calls me "hot mama". Oh well I'll get over it :)


So the need to go to work vanished as the QMap that needed off had the wrong Saturday in mind. It is next week that I will need to cover her.  No problem plenty to do around here!  I succeeded in getting the parakeets moved to the game room where instead of a pool table there are many, many plants.  The air hockey tables are shoved against the wall and the foosball table is still not upstairs so there is plenty of room for the birds.  About the foosball table it is also no longer in the dining room either although when there it at least  got used daily... and not just to dine around (with a board on top of course)
 People actually played the game! But time marches on and new friends are found kids move away from home...some move back...new kids move in...

OMGoodness a CNA just told the QMap that CNA's do not plunge toilets! Since when this is assisted living not the hospital!  And actually it is on their list of job duties like it or not... So the QMap took her by the hand and showed her where the plunger is kept and how to use it... I hope with a return demonstration but probably not because she is nicer than I am. (insert a growling mean face here) Actually I think it is time for an in-service as our state inspection will be here this month anyway.



Look it is a cute little quail on the hood of Clifford the big red car!!!  Oh well the cake is done.. time to make frosting!!!! Perhaps I will get a picture of the cake when it is done... It will never match the Yule log cake in beauty but it should taste pretty good with ice cream and we are already late with the birthday party for the daddy in this house lol...nothing new :)

The contents of this post are from early February. I was going to delete but thought more about it and decided to share. Sorry the pic's are sideways. As I sit at the table and look across to the counter in the middle of the room some call an Island, i bask in the silence that is now. Soon the island will be cluttered with items needed to make lunches and chaos will fill the silence as the house gets moving and kids get ready for school. There's only a few minutes until everyone else starts getting up. Today is hippotherapy for the youngest. The wind is howling right now so they may cancel it if it's too cold for the old horses they don't go out. It's too cold for this old horse! For 3 days we've been able to go outside without coats or sweaters or jackets. Yesterday the storm clouds brewed like they were going to dump an ocean in the yard I ran outside and grabbed seven batts of insulation and took them to the basement to save them from the rain. By

To be or not to be... that is NOT the question!

 It is the day before Thanksgiving and our plans have drastically changed. We will not be going to my daughter's home, and we will not be having turkey with her. I did manage to find a turkey and it looked smallish to me. Turns out it was only a pound smaller than the smallest one at the commissary. We will go for the bone density test this morning, and I will drop the dog off for groomer at my daughter's this morning on the way to the density test.  It might be a ham thanksgiving this year if anything at all. I am not complaining. I don't want to clean or cook as no one in this house even eats all the stuff. That was all yesterday and like everything in my life it changes hourly. We made it to all of our appointments and with the kids in tow! We did not get to any stores, because I do not do stores with kids if I do not have to. Black Friday... White Snow

 It is the day after Thanksgiving and the ground is covered. Black Friday shopping is not something I normally do, so this is not an inconvenience for me. We went to my daughter's home for Thanksgiving and a much smaller group of friends and family were there. My son was not feeling well so we took him some leftovers on our way home. Because the meal was not here, I do not have to deal with the leftovers or the post meal drama of what to do with all the leftover food. But that means no snacking foods either... it is a no-win situation. I get to make fresh food though and that is a good thing. I just tried to go out and return a medical device and the roads were very icy. I decided it was unlike Dunkin' Donuts, not worth the trip. Not to waste getting as far as the General Store I did buy the kids some soda for movie night tonight. We already have lots of popcorn and still some candy available.
