Busy days and stormy nights

 Today the kiddos went back to public school, hopefully it will keep them learning and entertained as well. I spent my first morning without them doing tasks that up to now have been impossible to get done. The list did not get finished, but I made a dent in it. Tomorrow I will make another dent in it. Not as big as today's dent, but a dent, nonetheless.

During my running around today, I was gifted many boxes for moving from my daughter and her neighbor and my neighbor. Now if I get any down time, I will start filling those boxes. It is now Thursday and there has been absolutely no down time. The kids are loving school so far, but isn't that how it goes? Next week it may be a different story.

All of the clouds were from the same evening into night and boy what a night that turned into. Moving has been a roller coaster. One day we are and then we aren't. Logistically it is going to be a nightmare. But once we have this house sold it won't be so bad. Because that will mean we got everything taken care of here. It is just the stress of not being in control that gets me I am sure of it.

The contents of this post are from early February. I was going to delete but thought more about it and decided to share. Sorry the pic's are sideways. As I sit at the table and look across to the counter in the middle of the room some call an Island, i bask in the silence that is now. Soon the island will be cluttered with items needed to make lunches and chaos will fill the silence as the house gets moving and kids get ready for school. There's only a few minutes until everyone else starts getting up. Today is hippotherapy for the youngest. The wind is howling right now so they may cancel it if it's too cold for the old horses they don't go out. It's too cold for this old horse! For 3 days we've been able to go outside without coats or sweaters or jackets. Yesterday the storm clouds brewed like they were going to dump an ocean in the yard I ran outside and grabbed seven batts of insulation and took them to the basement to save them from the rain. By

To be or not to be... that is NOT the question!

 It is the day before Thanksgiving and our plans have drastically changed. We will not be going to my daughter's home, and we will not be having turkey with her. I did manage to find a turkey and it looked smallish to me. Turns out it was only a pound smaller than the smallest one at the commissary. We will go for the bone density test this morning, and I will drop the dog off for groomer at my daughter's this morning on the way to the density test.  It might be a ham thanksgiving this year if anything at all. I am not complaining. I don't want to clean or cook as no one in this house even eats all the stuff. That was all yesterday and like everything in my life it changes hourly. We made it to all of our appointments and with the kids in tow! We did not get to any stores, because I do not do stores with kids if I do not have to. As Summer comes to an end...

  It is the end of the first week of August and the weather is changing. The nights are quite cool and the days are enough to singe your skin. The urgent things on my to do list are not all the way completed but getting there. Still 3 trees to go and I am making those my mandatory for this weekend. The smoke in the air from distant fires makes it difficult to breathe at times. I can only imagine how difficult it is for those closer to the actual fires. There has been some work on the henhouse and we have added an entry fence that helps tremendously!  DH widened the fence line for the turkeys too. He also made a north entry opening so when we separate the genders the girls can get out of the house without joining the males. When we slapped the bottom boards on last spring we knew we were creating work for later. The boards were overlapping the other boards and siding the building would not be right without trimming them. DH worked hard and got the turkey side trimmed and also was able t
