The break up...and Happy Cinco de Mayo
Good morning blog. The baby ducklings escaped their pen today and mama couldn't. Today is definitely a day to add the baby duck run to the pen. The weather says no though. It is getting chilly this morning, and I feel the need to bring the fruit trees back in. I have started cleaning out the front living room in an effort to have more room for all the seedling starts until the weather allows them outside. I am also setting up my sewing area in the middle size bedroom.
The rain has started. That puts an end to taking the liner out of the pool today. It also puts an end to setting up the duck run. I guess I work inside only today. There is plenty to do inside. Starting with making a plant area in the sewing room. It is way past time to start seeds also.
As I try to figure out the moving of the furniture plan, I realize the piano is my biggest obstacle. So of course I turned to google to find a solution. On order are wheels to put under the piano, not so much a piano dolly, but a set of wheels designed to move large heavy furniture. It should work. As the rain continues to fall even today, I have continued to work on things inside when there is a minute or two.
The buses are not running on the dirt roads today as yesterday one got stuck in the mud. It was the one that my kids are assigned to but do not ride. So today no buses are going down any dirt roads. That meant picking up the boy toy and running him home. He was dropped off on the south side of the main highway one mile from his home. The bus could have stopped on the main road and let him off at the south end of his dirt road and he would have had to walk a 1/2 mile but not crossed a busy highway alone. Instead, it turned left and went to a trailer park in order to let off multiple kids at one time.
Well, that is enough of drama for today. My rainwater catchment system is full and overflowing and now I need to purchase extra hoses to divert it to the swimming pool. It might not be the greatest way to fill a pool, but it is available.
I stirred the hornet's nest yesterday.
It is Friday and I got up on the wrong side of the bed. I was cranky pants ALL. MORNING. LONG. I am glad I finally got over it. But it was not pleasant for those around me. I was also forgetful all morning on top of it. We made it to all off our appointments and things that had to be done even dropped the littlest to her mom at work.
Here it is Saturday, and I have only a couple of running things to do. We are low on feed, and I promised to go over to the care center and see the hundred-year-old that is still there. I will do that about 1030 or 11ish. I made an exit for the turkeys so that they could be away from the other birds that are so mean. They used it yesterday and you could see they missed being with the rest of the flock.
This picture shows them alone, but it doesn't show how they were against the front fence chirping to the other birds. This morning, I released them into the main pen with the other birds. I will just watch and see how it goes. Enough typing for this post I need to change the ponds for the ducks and start my day
