More Bone Broth...

 Another fun night of making bone broth. Of course it still needs another hour of cooking in the instant pot but that is just something that must be done. I hope it turns out as I did not include a pig foot or a beef foot in the pot. :( During the procedure I discovered that my particular pressure cooker will only do up to an hour at a time so the process as whole took longer than the directions called for. We will see what happens. I am waiting for the pot to "release" so that I can set it for another hour and then head out the door.

I intend to leave work by noon so that I could take the kiddos to monkey business and get some studying done while they play. Right now they are on the trampoline and have been since 0555 this morning... good thing our closest neighbor is a group of pigs! The "natural" release process is going very slow and I need to leave for work so.... I might just try to speed things along.

Tomorrow I get to be at work at 0600 to pass meds... fun, fun, fun for a Monday! Oh well what are Mondays for anyway? I could change my mind  and not work for the QMap but.... Too late I am committed, or maybe I should just be committed :)

Oh great now they all want to go swimming :( it is waaay too early for that. the weather here gets really warm but the pool never does!
Even yesterday they were freezing in that thing but it was warm out of the pool. Except for the constant cool breeze that blows here. They have been having a blast in that thing for several weeks now and the littlest little might actually learn to swim this year! She is making progress and she can convince the older one to give her "turtle back" rides in the deeper water :) Not much going on after getting eggs into the freezer and the clothes off the line.
Can't even use my phone.... it just expected that little kids will drop your phone and scramble the screen and cause the thing to not work at all.... but your 37 year old?! She offered to pay for a new phone and she even worried when I wasn't even mad! Guess she thought mom's finally lost it...  But the truth is the thing wasn't working correctly anyway so this was a blessing in disguise. I get to go get a new phone!! Although it would have been convenient if she had done it earlier than Friday... perhaps I wouldn't have had to wait as long to go get one.. Now to actually find enough time to go get one.

The contents of this post are from early February. I was going to delete but thought more about it and decided to share. Sorry the pic's are sideways. As I sit at the table and look across to the counter in the middle of the room some call an Island, i bask in the silence that is now. Soon the island will be cluttered with items needed to make lunches and chaos will fill the silence as the house gets moving and kids get ready for school. There's only a few minutes until everyone else starts getting up. Today is hippotherapy for the youngest. The wind is howling right now so they may cancel it if it's too cold for the old horses they don't go out. It's too cold for this old horse! For 3 days we've been able to go outside without coats or sweaters or jackets. Yesterday the storm clouds brewed like they were going to dump an ocean in the yard I ran outside and grabbed seven batts of insulation and took them to the basement to save them from the rain. By

To be or not to be... that is NOT the question!

 It is the day before Thanksgiving and our plans have drastically changed. We will not be going to my daughter's home, and we will not be having turkey with her. I did manage to find a turkey and it looked smallish to me. Turns out it was only a pound smaller than the smallest one at the commissary. We will go for the bone density test this morning, and I will drop the dog off for groomer at my daughter's this morning on the way to the density test.  It might be a ham thanksgiving this year if anything at all. I am not complaining. I don't want to clean or cook as no one in this house even eats all the stuff. That was all yesterday and like everything in my life it changes hourly. We made it to all of our appointments and with the kids in tow! We did not get to any stores, because I do not do stores with kids if I do not have to. Black Friday... White Snow

 It is the day after Thanksgiving and the ground is covered. Black Friday shopping is not something I normally do, so this is not an inconvenience for me. We went to my daughter's home for Thanksgiving and a much smaller group of friends and family were there. My son was not feeling well so we took him some leftovers on our way home. Because the meal was not here, I do not have to deal with the leftovers or the post meal drama of what to do with all the leftover food. But that means no snacking foods either... it is a no-win situation. I get to make fresh food though and that is a good thing. I just tried to go out and return a medical device and the roads were very icy. I decided it was unlike Dunkin' Donuts, not worth the trip. Not to waste getting as far as the General Store I did buy the kids some soda for movie night tonight. We already have lots of popcorn and still some candy available.
