Birthday weekend and other hatchings...

Good morning blog. It has been quite a time with not much shared from this blogger. Yesterday was a very busy day. The tween had Friday school, Hippo therapy and there were things needed from the store.

It was hatching day too!

these I stole from the momma duck

These she hatched on her own
The cannibalistic chickens stole two that had "pipped" and that was my fault. In the end we have 5 new ducklings and a happy momma duck! We also picked up feed, made plans for Saturday as it is the big 15 for the oldest.

On Saturday we picked up the bestie of the birthday girl and each and every one of our plans went out the window. It turns out the bestie had never been to HuHot and wasn't sure she wanted to try it, she had already been forced to watch the Minecraft movie with her younger brother, and a host of other issues arose. All things that could be overcome, with a little patience and energy, okay a LOT of energy. After all the decisions were made everyone dropped to their respective locations, I took a deep breath and continued on through the night.

Once home and the chicken coop closed up and the younger kiddos in the house, the teens remained outside until well after midnight. Once it seemed quiet upstairs it was time to get up and start the day. My genuine hope had been that the kids would sleep in. Boy what was I thinking!! I started my day way too early and again got little done that needed to be done around here.

At the risk of parents being mad the teens got Wendy's

We had lunch Golden Corral

Later in the evening after the movie and before going back out east the kids had Wendy's and I indulged also. Today the youngest worked on her plan to walk to South Carolina. She worked hard to recruit a walking buddy and finally succeeded by recruiting Azzy.

We are all back home and the chores are partially done. They will never be completely done. We are all pretty wiped out from the weekend. This week has a lot to be decided. My sister and BIL went to the house that I would like to see and gave me a video tour. It was good enough that I would like to see this one in person.

On a downsizing note, DH got rid of two cars! I have four bags of clothing in my trunk to donate this week. It can be a challenge to donate clothing out here. I will get it done. Oh, on Thursday I walked out to my garden area, I am not sure why, but I did. To my surprise my tulips were in bloom!!

These were such an uplifting sight. Also, most of my Irises are coming up. These that I have out here came from a grandmother's flower bed.

Much like the signal that Spring is indeed close, the rhubarb has surfaced and the Lily plants that I transplanted from PAFB before they went all spacey on us.  :) No, they were not stolen they were given to me by the housing department. They said take all you want as we are tearing these relics down.

Rhubarb

Lily plants from PAFB

Well, that does it for this week. I have rain barrels and gutters to work on next week. Yikes!!
