This week... and the end of April

Good morning blog! I wish my energy level matched my enthusiasm level. Alas, it does not. The weather is fickle. Nothing new. The fruit trees are living in buckets to facilitate being wheeled indoors or out depending on the nighttime temperatures and risk of frost. I went out and took new pictures of the tulips yesterday evening.

They are much brighter colors in person

Today is expected to be very busy. Breakfast with a Realtor friend, Doctor appointment, a need to hit the DMV for a title to lose one more car from the property and a few other things. I need to make a little duck run for the mama and her ducklings. I am sure there is much more I need to do but first, coffee.

I am going to try to add a bit to this each day and post on the weekend. We will see how that goes. Yesterday DH told me he had something important to tell me. He has decided he doesn't want to sell this house. He did not give a reason. With that thought to me there is no reason to buy another house. I do not think I have the energy to travel between two states no matter how close to each other they are. That is not what he meant though, he still wants to buy something in the other state.

Did I mention that the rainwater catchment is starting to work? If it turns out to be viable the fruit trees would benefit. We have about 100 gallons in one container and 50 in the other. Each can hold 250 but that is a pipe dream here! So, container gardening will be the plan for this season for the things that will thrive that way. I may plant squash and cucumbers on the hills by the house so they can act as ground cover and be easily watered. That's all for today!

Well, if yesterday was boring today made up for it. I remembered the dog food and gas this morning. That made the morning go pretty well. A new bird came for seeds.

The preschooler was a bit on the needy side, but we got through it. We left for school early so that she could buy gum for her teachers. I dropped her off and intended to pick up an old friend to take to the care center to visit an old resident that we both knew. She couldn't go so I went alone. I had a nice visit and usually I take a picture with her but not this time. The whole reason for scheduling the visit this day was that I was supposed to do afternoon pick up. That got cancelled and I headed home.

Once home I started the chores and discovered that a duckling had drown, it was sad. While I was taking the duckling to bury it, I met up with a snake. I did not try to kill it at first, I pushed at it with a garden tool. I was hoping it would go away. It went under one car and then beside another car.

Turned out to not be a dangerous snake as google lens suggested first, but still it was a snake and by the time I got the keys to move the car the snake was long gone, and it was time to get the kids. The rest of the evening was life as usual. Well, maybe not all as usual. The cat does not normally hang out in the freezer.

A couple of other things happened too, like my daughter's plans had to change so after I cancelled an appointment for tomorrow, she found out she cannot take care of the home front for me to travel. It is just as well. Many things to do here. Good night blog!
