Sunday... a day of rest

One would think that would be true... unless they live in our house.  The dishwasher is humming and the Preschooler and Toddler are in bed..too bad I am ready to join them! My youngest adult daughter from the bio group left about 2 hours ago for home with her baby daughter; she is so darn cute!!  They spend 2-3 days a week here so her sister who lives here too can babysit for her. So now the older daughter and her husband and two kids are getting homework done, food into tummies and backpacks ready for school tomorrow.  Yes it is a chaotic place to be most nights... and if I am at work the bulk of all the work falls on my daughter.  So if you drop by don't expect Susie homemaker or Betty to meet you at the door! Neither of them have been here lately... not sure why?!

We went to the fabric store after church today and also to Wal Mart. Wow! JoAnn's was packed and we should have turned and walked out.... well we did $30 later. We learned a really neat thing today though... You can use any number of coupons in the same transaction as long as they are not from the same source... for example if you get coupons in the mail from them or a competitor you can use them with a coupon that you get in an email and also with one you may have received on your phone!  Even if they belong to a competitor!!! Just make sure you have purchased enough items to cover your coupons.

Maybe that is not news to some of you but we sure were excited to find out that we could use more than one at a time!  Not that either of us have any business looking at fabric much less buying any!  I haven't made any diapers to sell in at least 9 months and she is on hold with school (fashion design courses).  So really unless it is making money or breaking even we should not be in there! I would like to claim that I am just using what I make for my two and technically I am.  But I should try to make a few to sell so I can justify buying more fabric.

I have to close now so I can clear a spot on the kitchen table to cut the fabric into shapes I can sew thereby justifying today's purchase ;) Good night!!!

The contents of this post are from early February. I was going to delete but thought more about it and decided to share. Sorry the pic's are sideways. As I sit at the table and look across to the counter in the middle of the room some call an Island, i bask in the silence that is now. Soon the island will be cluttered with items needed to make lunches and chaos will fill the silence as the house gets moving and kids get ready for school. There's only a few minutes until everyone else starts getting up. Today is hippotherapy for the youngest. The wind is howling right now so they may cancel it if it's too cold for the old horses they don't go out. It's too cold for this old horse! For 3 days we've been able to go outside without coats or sweaters or jackets. To be or not to be... that is NOT the question!

 It is the day before Thanksgiving and our plans have drastically changed. We will not be going to my daughter's home, and we will not be having turkey with her. I did manage to find a turkey and it looked smallish to me. Turns out it was only a pound smaller than the smallest one at the commissary. We will go for the bone density test this morning, and I will drop the dog off for groomer at my daughter's this morning on the way to the density test.  It might be a ham thanksgiving this year if anything at all. I am not complaining. I don't want to clean or cook as no one in this house even eats all the stuff. That was all yesterday and like everything in my life it changes hourly. We made it to all of our appointments and with the kids in tow! We did not get to any stores, because I do not do stores with kids if I do not have to. Black Friday... White Snow

 It is the day after Thanksgiving and the ground is covered. Black Friday shopping is not something I normally do, so this is not an inconvenience for me. We went to my daughter's home for Thanksgiving and a much smaller group of friends and family were there. My son was not feeling well so we took him some leftovers on our way home. Because the meal was not here, I do not have to deal with the leftovers or the post meal drama of what to do with all the leftover food. But that means no snacking foods either... it is a no-win situation. I get to make fresh food though and that is a good thing. I just tried to go out and return a medical device and the roads were very icy. I decided it was unlike Dunkin' Donuts, not worth the trip. Not to waste getting as far as the General Store I did buy the kids some soda for movie night tonight. We already have lots of popcorn and still some candy available.
