Happy Birthday...

Happy Birthday... now go cart the kids to their appointments and activities! The highlight of my day was a phone call from the youngest grandchild. She was able to say happy burr day gamma, it was quite cute! Otherwise, the DDS wanted money, the school, a conference, work, a shift picked up, in other words a typical day.

Today, after dropping off the grandchildren with two legs to their mother, it was time to take the oldest for her yearly physical. The provider made no bones about saying she was tall and still overweight. She is at a tender age, and I was taken aback by his lack of delicacy. Thank you, Air Force.

Luckily it did not register to her until we got into the car to leave. She then said, "why does he think I am fat?" Perhaps it registered but she at least had the politeness to wait until we were out of earshot to say anything. Either way I let her know he was just going by air force standards and that she should not trouble herself with it just yet. I will work more exercise to her schedule.

Saturday brought its' own drama as the guinea pig became noticeably lethargic and then died. But he did not die until bedtime. So that was delayed by tears and rants of not being a good enough guinea pig mommy by the 10-year-old. Finally, she drifted off to sleep and so did I. Morning arrived with more tears and a trip to the store in town to claim some creamer and milk and a birthday gift for a party this afternoon.

Donuts, they have many benefits, not of them particularly healthy but they can dry tears and bring happy conversation about pets. Now the little wants another pet. We will see, not today though. Oh! The wandering kids are back in town for a memorial service dedicated to the music teacher for their oldest kid. The orange tabby cat made its' way to their 5th wheel door and moved back in with her boy. Now if only the other cat would do the same...

Happy countdown to the next year continues... week 40 marches on!
